A lot of real estate agents get a website that has all the bells and whistles.  It has pretty pictures, it has IDX for people to search the MLS, it has contact forms to capture leads, it has pages that talk about the communities they serve, and so much more.

Then crickets.

Nobody visits.

Then comes the period of frustration.  Frustration that all that money and work you put into that masterpiece that is your website was for nothing.  The world is missing out on your amazing insight and the service you could provide them as a Realtor.  Is it your loss, or more likely their loss?

Websites don’t work that way.  People need to actually know you have a website so they can visit it to enjoy all the bells and whistles that you produced or spent money on.

The easiest way to get people to your website is as simple as letting your database know.  Send everyone an email to tell them about your new website, and don’t forget to give them the link.  Ask them to bookmark it.  Ask them to forward the email to a friend.  It also gives you another opportunity to ask them if they know anyone who may need a Realtor. Every reason you can touch your database with something of value is a good reason.

That will get people to your website today.

That simple exercise will keep you on the mind of everyone in your Realtor database, and will help generate new leads when your database send their friends to your website.

Then after today, remember that every time you email them, to make sure to include your website address.  It serves as a little reminder.  Even if the recipients don’t need a Realtor at that moment, a lot of people just want to use IDX to look at what’s on the market.  You don’t think people actually do “work” at work, do you?

It can’t be that easy, can it?  Yes it can, and it is.  Agent Sidekick can help you get started with your own website.
