Real estate agents work an average of 40 hour weeks, according the National Association of Realtors 2016 Member Profile. Although Realtors rarely work 9-5 Monday through Friday, those hours are the equivalent of a full time job. The more important statistic is that there are 128 hours during the week that Realtors are not working. How many more leads could a Realtor get if there was a way to fill those 128 hours?
Regardless of how many hours a day or week a Realtor works, there is one thing for certain – they are not working 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Nobody can do that. Even the hardest workers need sleep. Even the most dedicated employees take a break.
But most of us lead normal lives. We go to our kid’s soccer games. We sit down for dinner with our family. We fly on planes with no cell service on our way to vacation. We even sleep!
During most of those times, we’re not working. Sometimes we shut our phones off so that we can give our families our undivided attention or so that our phones don’t wake us up with a late night call or text message.
Unfortunately, the people searching the internet for homes and a real estate agent to help them don’t have the same schedule as Realtors. They may work 9-5, so they search the internet while you are at a restaurant with your family or maybe even sleeping. They may be searching before work, when you are getting in the shower or putting on make-up. Think of everything that you do during a normal week when you are not thinking about work.
A Realtor’s website, on the other hand, is always working. Your website never sleeps. Your website doesn’t even have a family to eat with.
Think of that home shopper who is researching homes for sale and which communities to potentially live in at midnight while you’re fast asleep. You are not available to speak to him about those communities or able set up a MLS search to email him listings. But your website is selling you. Your website is giving him all the information he needs. Your website allows him to search for homes.
Your website is working while you’re not. Your website is capturing leads when you can’t.
